Alive

I wake up every morning with a nervous excitement.  I wonder if I have what it takes to complete my workout. Will it be enough to prepare me for the triathlon?   Here are 3 points that confirm I’m living fully alive!

  1. Butterflies flutter in my stomach everytime I think about my goal.
  2. No need for the snooze button.
  3. Goal that seemed impossible, seems a little more possible each day.

“There is living and there is being fully alive!”

Change

I’m a high school teacher. I wore a red shirt to school.  Some kid yelled, “Kool Aid!” while I was walking down the hall.  I don’t want that to happen anymore, so I’m training for a triathlon. Here are 3 points that confirmed it was time for a change.

  1. Resolved to lose weight and overeat at the same time.
  2. Thought everything was just fine… just fine is never a child’s dream.
  3. Nothing in life gets you nervous.

“The Koolaid dude is happy, but you don’t want him as your doppleganger.”

Hope

Every morning I woke up slowly.  I had aches and pains. I was out of shape and overweight. I was disappointed and discouraged.  Here are 3 points that confirmed I needed hope.

  1. Woke up each morning with a hint of dread.
  2. Convinced this was how it would always be…and its not how I wanted it to be.
  3. Smile was a sheer veil that covered a longing for renewal.

“Hope may not be a strategy, but it is a lifespring.”
